What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Aplus provides initial training for the Designated Manager and up to two other people at no charge. This training is provided at least 5 weeks before the Aplus store commences operations. The franchisee, however, is responsible for covering the costs associated with hotel, travel, and wages for all training attendees, including the Designated Manager and the two additional people.

This initial training program is a blend of classroom instruction and hands-on learning experiences. The training primarily takes place at "Sunoco University," located at one of Aplus's affiliate offices outside of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

For a prospective Aplus franchisee, this means that while the training itself is free for up to three people, there will be significant out-of-pocket expenses for travel, accommodation, and lost wages during the training period. It is important to factor these costs into the initial investment and operating budget. Ensuring the Designated Manager attends and successfully completes the training is mandatory before the Aplus store can open.
