What This Means (2024 FDD)

Based on the 2024 Aplus Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for maintaining Aplus store equipment, which includes adhering to repair and maintenance terms outlined in the Aplus Franchise Agreement. This responsibility extends throughout the lease term, even if the Franchise Agreement terminates before the lease.

Additionally, Aplus franchisees must develop a Release Response Plan for the premises, which should include emergency phone numbers for local fire and health departments, agencies responsible for emergency environmental reporting at the local, state, and federal levels, and Sunoco.

While the FDD excerpt specifies the need for emergency contacts and general maintenance of store equipment, it does not explicitly detail specific responsibilities related to fire suppression equipment like extinguishers or sprinkler systems. A prospective franchisee should seek clarification from Aplus regarding the specific maintenance, inspection, and compliance requirements for fire suppression equipment to ensure full understanding of their obligations.
