What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must allow access to the Aplus store for inspections and other permitted visits, treating the Area Representative with the same access as if they were an employee of Aplus. Franchisees cannot claim inadequate notice or other issues to deny the Area Representative admittance when they are reasonably pursuing duties permitted or required of Aplus under the agreement. This obligation is in place if the Aplus store is located within an Area Representative's defined territory, as a substantial amount of the services required to be provided to the franchisee by Aplus may be delegated to the Area Representative.
In addition to Area Representatives, Aplus or its representatives will make periodic visits to the franchised business for consultation, assistance, and guidance on various aspects of the operation and management of the Aplus store. These visits may be announced or unannounced.
These stipulations ensure that Aplus can maintain brand standards, provide necessary support, and oversee operations effectively. For a prospective franchisee, this means being prepared for regular evaluations and being receptive to guidance from Aplus and its designated representatives. Failing to comply with these access requirements could potentially lead to breaches of the franchise agreement.
