What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, Aplus franchisees face no restrictions regarding the customers to whom they may offer goods and services. However, Aplus maintains control over the products and services offered at the store.
Aplus franchisees must adhere to minimum standards of quality and variety for merchandise, as detailed in the Franchise Agreement and Systems Manual. Aplus provides a list of Minimum Inventory Requirements, which they may modify. While franchisees can offer other items, Aplus retains the right to demand the discontinuation of any item or service that does not align with the brand's public image.
Aplus also requires franchisees to follow a planogram for store layout, including floor and shelf specifications. Any additional items franchisees wish to sell must be approved by Aplus. Furthermore, all self-serve paper goods and fast food products must be sold in standardized packaging bearing the Aplus mark and sourced from approved suppliers.
Despite these restrictions on products and branding, Aplus franchisees are free to serve any customer, without limitation.
