What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the approval of a supplier may be conditional. Aplus may consider factors such as the supplier's ability to provide a sufficient quantity of the product, the quality of the products or services offered at competitive prices, the supplier's production and delivery capabilities, and their overall dependability and general reputation.

If a franchisee wants to use products, services, or new technology that Aplus hasn't approved yet, they need to give Aplus enough information, specifications, and samples. This allows Aplus to check if the product or service meets their standards and if the supplier fits their criteria for approved suppliers. The franchisee will have to cover all the costs that Aplus incurs while deciding whether to approve the item, service, or supplier.

Aplus will then decide within a reasonable time, usually around 30 days after getting all the necessary information, whether the franchisee can buy or lease the items or services from the supplier. However, Aplus isn't obligated to approve any specific supplier. Aplus also isn't required to share its confidential standards and specifications with potential suppliers.

This process ensures that Aplus maintains consistent quality and standards across all its franchise locations. It also protects the Aplus brand by carefully vetting suppliers and products before they are introduced into the Aplus system. For a prospective franchisee, this means they may face restrictions on where they can source products and services, but it also provides assurance that approved suppliers meet Aplus's quality standards.
