What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are responsible for the cost of an as-built site survey. If the franchisee does not have an existing as-built survey in AutoCAD format, Aplus will have a third-party vendor create one. The approximate cost for this as-built site survey is $2,900.
During the as-built site survey, the franchisee must provide the vendor with access to all areas requiring the survey. The third-party vendor will then generate an architectural as-built in AutoCAD to Aplus specifications. This includes a floor plan, interior and exterior elevations, and photographs.
In addition to the as-built site survey, the third-party vendor will design the store layout to Aplus standards and submit the layout to both Sunoco and the franchisee for review and approval. For these services, the third-party vendor will charge the franchisee a Project Management Fee of $4,900. This fee covers the procurement of required equipment, engineering support for the project, and coordination with the franchisee's general contractor.
Therefore, franchisees should budget approximately $2,900 for the as-built site survey and an additional $4,900 for the project management fee, totaling $7,800 for these services provided by Aplus's third-party vendor. This cost is in addition to other fees associated with opening an Aplus franchise.
