What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Aplus's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, if an Aplus franchisee's location includes an ATM, they must grant access to the general public and representatives of the bank (or its affiliates/agents). This access includes entry to the site, temporary parking, and exit from the site. The purpose of this access is for the installation, maintenance, use, and removal of any equipment related to the ATM.

This requirement ensures that the ATM remains accessible for customers to use and for bank personnel to service. It also allows for the initial setup and eventual removal of the ATM equipment. This is a standard practice for businesses that host ATMs, as the ATM provider needs to maintain and manage their equipment.

For a prospective Aplus franchisee, this means they cannot restrict access to the ATM area for either the public or authorized bank personnel. Failure to provide this access could result in a breach of the franchise agreement. The franchisee maintains control of the premises but must allow access to the ATM site at all times for the specified purposes.
