What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Antioch Pizza Shop Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is generally responsible for maintaining the restaurant. Specifically, if the Restaurant is damaged by fire or other casualty, the franchisee is required to expeditiously repair the damage. If such damage or repair requires closing the Restaurant, the franchisee must notify the Franchisor immediately, repair or rebuild the Restaurant according to the Franchisor's specifications, and reopen for continuous business operations as soon as reasonably practicable, but within one year after closing.
This means that franchisees bear the financial burden of maintaining the physical condition of their Antioch Pizza Shop location. This includes repairs due to fire, natural disasters, or other unforeseen events. Franchisees need to factor in potential maintenance costs when projecting their operating expenses. They should also ensure they have adequate insurance coverage to mitigate financial risks associated with property damage and closures.
The Franchise Agreement will terminate immediately upon notice by Franchisor to Franchisee if the Restaurant is not reopened in accordance with this paragraph. This underscores the importance of having contingency plans and sufficient financial resources to address potential damages and ensure timely repairs to maintain the franchise agreement with Antioch Pizza Shop.
