What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, Antioch Pizza Shop retains rights that are not specifically granted to the franchisee. Specifically, Antioch Pizza Shop reserves the right to conduct businesses under different marks and systems, and to conduct businesses using the Antioch Pizza Shop marks and system in non-conventional forums, such as shopping malls, airports, train stations, hotels, resorts, casinos, military bases, federal lands, and university campuses.
Antioch Pizza Shop also reserves the right to allow other franchisees to offer delivery and catering services within a franchisee's protected area, provided they operate from a location outside of that protected area. They can also use the Antioch Pizza Shop marks and license them to others for purposes other than operating a full-service restaurant, including online commerce. Additionally, Antioch Pizza Shop can distribute products and services through various channels, including wholesale and retail, and license others to offer Antioch Pizza Shop branded items in restaurants not operated under the Antioch Pizza Shop marks.
These reservations mean that while a franchisee may have a protected area, Antioch Pizza Shop can still operate or authorize others to operate similar businesses or services within or near that area under certain circumstances. This could potentially impact a franchisee's revenue and market share. It is important for a prospective franchisee to understand these reserved rights and how they might affect their business before investing in an Antioch Pizza Shop franchise.
