What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Antioch Pizza Shop's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the length of the initial training program is determined by the franchisor based on a couple of key factors. These factors include the type of franchise the franchisee purchases (dine-in, take-out/delivery, or express) and the prior relevant experience of the individuals attending the training. The franchisor retains the discretion to decide the length of the training based on these considerations.

This means that a franchisee with extensive prior experience in the pizza or restaurant industry might undergo a shorter training program compared to someone new to the field. Similarly, the complexity of the franchise type (e.g., a full dine-in restaurant versus a smaller express location) could influence the duration of the training. Antioch Pizza Shop conducts this initial training at its location in Antioch, Illinois, or at another site they designate. The training includes manuals, classroom instruction, and other required classes.

For a prospective franchisee, this implies that the initial training period is not fixed and can vary. It is essential to discuss with Antioch Pizza Shop what specific experience or qualifications might shorten the training duration. Understanding the expected length of training is crucial for planning the pre-opening phase, including travel and accommodation arrangements, especially since the training location may not be local to the franchisee. Also, the franchisee needs to consider that Antioch Pizza Shop has the right to evaluate the franchisee's fitness during the training and can terminate the agreement if the training is not completed successfully to their satisfaction.

While Antioch Pizza Shop does not charge a fee for initial training for two people (the principal franchisee and a designated manager), additional personnel will incur a training fee. This flexibility in training duration and the evaluation process underscores the importance of clear communication and preparation on the franchisee's part to ensure a successful launch.
