What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Angry Chickz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisee contributions to nonprofit organizations or charities will generally not count toward the Local Advertising Expenditure.
Specifically, these contributions can only be considered part of the Local Advertising Expenditure if expressly permitted in the Angry Chickz Manual(s) or otherwise in writing by the company. This means that unless Angry Chickz provides explicit permission in writing or includes it in their official operating manual, franchisees cannot count charitable donations towards their required local advertising spending.
This policy ensures that Angry Chickz maintains control over how advertising funds are spent, directing them towards strategies that the company believes will most effectively promote the brand. For a prospective franchisee, this means they should clarify with Angry Chickz under what specific circumstances, if any, charitable contributions can be counted towards the Local Advertising Expenditure to avoid any misunderstandings or potential non-compliance issues.
