What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Angry Chickz Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must sign a general release as a condition of transferring their franchise agreement. Specifically, this release is required when transferring the Franchise Agreement or the Development Agreement. This indicates that Angry Chickz does allow for the transfer of franchise agreements under certain conditions.

This requirement of a general release prior to transfer is a legal mechanism to protect Angry Chickz from potential future liabilities or claims that the franchisee might have against them. By signing the release, the franchisee waives certain rights and agrees not to pursue legal action related to the franchise agreement. This is a fairly standard practice in franchising to ensure a clean break and protect the franchisor during ownership transitions.

For a prospective Angry Chickz franchisee, this means that if they decide to sell their franchise, they will be required to sign a document releasing Angry Chickz from any further obligations or liabilities. It is crucial to carefully review the terms of the general release with a legal professional to fully understand the implications before signing. This ensures that the franchisee is aware of what rights they are giving up and that the transfer process is conducted smoothly and legally.
