What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Angry Chickz FDD, the state of New York requires specific language on the cover page of the Franchise Disclosure Document. This language informs prospective franchisees that information comparing franchisors is available from state administrators or public libraries. It also states that New York's registration of the franchise does not constitute a recommendation or verification of the information within the document.
Furthermore, the New York addendum clarifies that if anything in the Franchise Disclosure Document is found to be untrue, it should be reported to the Federal Trade Commission and the appropriate state or provincial authority. The addendum also states that Angry Chickz may choose to negotiate terms with potential franchisees, but cannot pressure them into accepting terms less favorable than those outlined in the Franchise Disclosure Document.
In California, the FDD states that Angry Chickz's website has not been reviewed or approved by the California Department of Financial Protection and Innovation, and any complaints about the website's contents may be directed to that department. This disclaimer highlights that the state agency does not oversee or endorse the franchisor's website content, placing responsibility on the franchisee to evaluate the information independently.
