We cannot reasonably estimate the future costs of the Information Systems, required hardware, software, or service or support, however you must acquire and incur the costs of obtaining and implementing the hardware, software and other components and devices comprising the Information Systems (including additions, upgrades, updates and modifications) and all support services, service and maintenance agreements and subscriptions prescribed by us from time to time. What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Angry Chickz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisee is responsible for the costs associated with obtaining and implementing the hardware, software, and other components of the Information Systems. The FDD states that the franchisee must acquire and incur the costs of obtaining and implementing the hardware, software, and other components and devices comprising the Information Systems (including additions, upgrades, updates and modifications) and all support services, service and maintenance agreements and subscriptions prescribed by Angry Chickz from time to time.

This means that franchisees must budget not only for the initial purchase and installation of the Information Systems, which the FDD estimates to cost between $20,000 and $30,000, but also for ongoing expenses such as support services, maintenance, upgrades, and updates. These systems include electronic-based hardware, software, middleware, web-based solutions, wireless, electronic interfaces, cabling, computer systems, point of sale cash collection systems, mobile devices/software, order systems, email systems, data systems, network systems, printer systems, mobile applications, internet systems, telecommunication systems, telephone systems, security systems, digital media systems, video and still digital cameras, power systems, required service and support systems and programs, and other related accessories and peripheral equipment.

Angry Chickz does not provide ongoing maintenance, repairs, upgrades, or updates to the system, making it the franchisee's responsibility to obtain support and maintenance contracts from third parties. Additionally, there is no contractual limit on Angry Chickz's ability to require franchisees to update or upgrade the systems, add components, or replace components, which could lead to unforeseen expenses. The franchisee is also responsible for maintaining the Information Systems in good repair. This arrangement is typical in franchising, where franchisees often bear the costs of technology and system maintenance, but the open-ended nature of potential required updates means franchisees should carefully consider these potential future costs.
