What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Angry Chickz Franchise Disclosure Document, the state of Michigan has specific addenda that address franchisee rights. For franchisees operating in Michigan, Angry Chickz cannot enforce any provision that prohibits a franchisee from joining an association of franchisees. This protection ensures that franchisees in Michigan have the right to organize and collectively address issues with the franchisor without fear of reprisal.
This provision is particularly important because franchisee associations can provide a platform for franchisees to share information, negotiate collectively with the franchisor, and advocate for their interests. By ensuring that Angry Chickz franchisees in Michigan can join such associations, the state aims to balance the power dynamic between the franchisor and its franchisees.
It is important to note that this protection is specifically mentioned in the addendum for Michigan. Franchisees in other states should review their respective state addenda, if any, to understand whether similar protections apply. If a prospective franchisee is considering opening an Angry Chickz franchise in a state other than Michigan, they should inquire with the franchisor about their policies regarding franchisee associations to fully understand their rights and obligations.
