What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Angry Chickz Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee needs prior consent from Angry Chickz to use their marks in connection with the internet, any website, or email address. Specifically, Article 15.1.6 states that if Angry Chickz authorized the franchisee to use the marks online, upon termination of the agreement, the franchisee must cancel or assign to Angry Chickz all rights to internet websites, web pages, email addresses, social media listings, and domain name listings that contain the marks.

Furthermore, the franchisee must notify relevant parties of the termination of their right to use any domain name, web page, social media listing, or other internet device associated with Angry Chickz or the franchised business and authorize the cancellation or transfer to Angry Chickz. The FDD explicitly states that nothing in this section permits a franchisee to use the marks in connection with the internet without Angry Chickz's prior consent.

In practical terms, this means that an Angry Chickz franchisee must seek and obtain explicit permission from Angry Chickz before using the brand's trademarks on any online platform, including websites, email addresses, and social media. This requirement ensures that Angry Chickz maintains control over its brand image and online presence, and it is a standard practice in franchising to protect the brand's intellectual property.
