What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Angry Chickz Franchise Disclosure Document, if Angry Chickz authorized a franchisee to use their Marks on the internet, websites, email addresses, or social media, the franchisee must cancel or assign all rights to these to Angry Chickz or their designee upon termination. This includes all interest in internet websites, web pages, email addresses, social media listings, domain name listings, and registrations containing the Marks.

The franchisee is also required to notify relevant parties of the termination of their right to use any domain name, web page, social media listing, or other internet device associated with Angry Chickz or the franchised business. They must authorize and instruct the cancellation or transfer of these items to Angry Chickz, as directed by the company. The franchisee will not receive any compensation from Angry Chickz for exercising these rights.

This provision ensures that Angry Chickz maintains control over its brand and online presence, preventing former franchisees from potentially misrepresenting themselves or causing confusion in the marketplace after their franchise agreement ends. It is a fairly standard practice in franchising to protect the brand's integrity and goodwill. Prospective franchisees should be aware of these obligations and ensure they understand the implications for their online assets upon termination of the agreement.
