Does an Angry Chickz franchisee receive an exclusive territory?
Angry_Chickz Franchise · 2025 FDDAnswer from 2025 FDD Document
You will be permitted to operate your Dine-In Restaurant at a specific Venue that we accept, as described in your Franchise Agreement. You will be granted a Protected Area around your Restaurant (the "Protected Area"). We will assign your Protected Area when you sign your Franchise Agreement and identify your location. Typically, your Protected Area will be a 3 Mile radius around your Restaurant. In densely populated areas (e.g., downtown areas or urban areas with high day-time populations), your Protected Area may be smaller or may be limited to the location of your Restaurant, or a geographic area described in your Franchise Agreement. Factors that we consider in determining the size of your Protected Area include among others, the demographics, population size, neighboring and adjacent retail tenants, visibility, and proximity to other businesses. You will not receive an exclusive territory. You may face competition from other franchisees, from outlets that we own, or from other channels of distribution or competitive brands that we control.

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Angry Chickz Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees do not receive an exclusive territory. Instead, Angry Chickz franchisees are granted a Protected Area around their restaurant. For a standard Franchise Agreement, this Protected Area is typically a 3-mile radius around the restaurant's location. However, in densely populated areas, the Protected Area may be smaller or even limited to just the restaurant's location. The size of the Protected Area is determined by Angry Chickz based on factors like demographics, population size, neighboring tenants, visibility, and proximity to other businesses.
Even within the Protected Area, Angry Chickz retains significant rights. The franchisor can operate or license others to operate restaurants at Non-Traditional Venues, such as those within another primary business, institutional settings, or mobile locations, even within a franchisee's Protected Area. Angry Chickz also reserves the right to market products and services through various channels, including the internet, third-party delivery services, and other distribution methods, regardless of their proximity to the franchisee's location.
Prospective Angry Chickz franchisees should be aware that they may face competition from other franchisees, company-owned outlets, and other distribution channels or competitive brands controlled by Angry Chickz. The franchisee's rights within the Protected Area are contingent upon their performance under the franchise agreement. The franchisee cannot relocate their restaurant without prior written consent from Angry Chickz, and they are not granted any options or rights of first refusal to acquire additional franchises within the Protected Area.
