What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Angry Chickz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, abandonment of the franchised business occurs if the franchisee fails to operate the business for five consecutive days during the term of the agreement. This abandonment clause allows Angry Chickz to terminate the franchise agreement without providing an opportunity for the franchisee to correct the issue.
This provision is significant for prospective franchisees because it highlights the importance of continuous operation. Unforeseen circumstances that lead to a closure of five consecutive days could result in the termination of the franchise agreement. This could include events such as equipment failure, supply chain disruptions, or staffing shortages.
Franchisees should have contingency plans in place to ensure the business remains operational to avoid violating the abandonment clause. It is important to maintain open communication with Angry Chickz if any situation arises that may lead to a temporary closure, even if it is expected to be less than five days, to understand any potential flexibility or support the franchisor may offer.
