What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Angry Chickz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if you purchase a franchise in Washington, the location for any arbitration or mediation will be determined according to the following conditions. The arbitration or mediation site will be in Washington state, or in a location mutually agreed upon at the time of the arbitration or mediation. Alternatively, the arbitrator or mediator can determine the location at the time of the arbitration or mediation.
This addendum modifies the standard franchise agreement to comply with Washington state law, which may provide more favorable terms to the franchisee than the standard agreement. This ensures that franchisees are not forced to travel to a distant location to resolve disputes with Angry Chickz.
Furthermore, if litigation is not precluded by the franchise agreement, a franchisee has the option to bring legal action in Washington if the dispute arises from the sale of the franchise or involves a violation of the Washington Franchise Investment Protection Act. This provides an additional layer of protection and convenience for franchisees operating in Washington.
