Training (Franchise Agreement, Article 6)
The Operating Principal, the Restaurant Leader and, if applicable, trainer, shall at all times have successfully completed, to our satisfaction, an initial training program in the Standards and the operation of a Restaurant ("Initial Training Program"). We may modify the content and manner of conducting the Initial Training Program in our discretion from time to time. Prior to commencing operation of your Restaurant, we shall provide at no additional cost the Initial Training Program to 4 persons, including the Operating Principal, the Restaurant Leader and the trainer. You may not operate your Restaurant until the then-current Operating Principal, initial Restaurant Leader and trainee (if applicable) shall have completed the Initial Training Program to our satisfaction. Training will be conducted at our training facilities at our headquarters and in Thousand Oaks, California or at other approved training facility(ies) specified by us, and may include classroom training, instruction at our or your facilities, remote training, and/or a self-study program. The Initial Training Program shall be approximately up to 150 hours and will be conducted over approximately 15 days.
If we provide the Initial Training Program (i) to any person designated by you in addition to the first Operating Principal, your first Restaurant Leader and, trainer, if applicable, (ii) to you in connection with a Successor Franchise Agreement or your (or your affiliates') third or subsequent Restaurants, or (iii) to you because we require you (or your employees) to attend the Initial Training Program, you shall pay our then-current training fees and reimburse us for our costs and expenses incurred by or assessed in connection with travel, including airfare, hotel/lodging, local transportation, meals, and, with regard to our employees', agents' and/or representatives' expenses, a per diem charge determined by us in advance, with respect to other incidental expenses incurred, including laundry and/or telephone expenses ("Travel Expenses").

What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Angry Chickz's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Initial Training Program is approximately up to 150 hours, conducted over about 15 days. This training is mandatory for the Operating Principal, Restaurant Leader, and trainer, if applicable, and must be completed to Angry Chickz's satisfaction before the restaurant can open.
The training program includes both classroom and on-the-job training. The FDD provides a breakdown of the training subjects, with a total of 80 hours of classroom training and 70 hours of on-the-job training, for a total of 150 hours. Classroom training takes place at Angry Chickz headquarters, while on-the-job training occurs at a designated training restaurant.
Prospective franchisees should note that Angry Chickz may modify the content and manner of conducting the Initial Training Program at its discretion. If additional training is required for more than the initial four people (Operating Principal, Restaurant Leader, and trainer), or for reasons such as a Successor Franchise Agreement or the franchisee's third or subsequent restaurants, the franchisee will incur training fees and travel expenses. This could add a significant cost, so it's important to factor this into the overall investment.
The training is conducted by Angry Chickz staff, under the supervision of Mariana Sanchez, the Director of Training since March 2025, who has over 8 years of experience in the restaurant industry. Other trainers will have experience in the materials they present and at least one year of restaurant experience. The training program utilizes manuals, bulletins, electronic communications, demonstrations, checklists, and exams.
