What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Anago's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, as an Anago Unit franchisee, you are required to use Anago's Proprietary Marks as the sole service mark identifications for your franchise. These marks must be displayed prominently on all designated and authorized materials, adhering to Anago's specified manner of display. The FDD defines "Proprietary Marks" as the service mark and logo "Anago" and all other trademarks, service marks, trade names, logos and commercial symbols Anago authorizes as part of its System.

This requirement ensures brand consistency and uniformity across all Anago franchises, which is a common practice in franchising. By mandating the use of specific proprietary marks, Anago aims to maintain a recognizable brand identity and protect its trademarks. Franchisees must obtain written consent from Anago before using the Proprietary Marks or any derivation of them on the Internet, in any electronic advertising, or on social media.

Furthermore, franchisees are prohibited from using any other trade names or marks at their Unit Franchise business or in connection with their Unit Franchise business without Anago's express written consent. If a franchisee operates their Anago Unit Franchise out of a business premises, they must maintain a suitable sign or graphics package identifying the premises only as "Anago," conforming to Anago's requirements unless local regulations or landlord restrictions prevent it. This level of control over branding and signage is typical in franchise systems to ensure a consistent brand image and customer experience.
