What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Anago's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, an Anago Unit Franchise operating within a designated area, such as the counties in Texas where Plano is located, must operate under the name "Anago". The franchisee cannot operate the Unit Franchise outside of their designated area. Anago retains the right to open and operate company units, franchise to others, or engage in any other method of distribution at their discretion, including within the franchisee's designated area.
This means that if you purchase an Anago franchise for the Plano, TX area, you are required to conduct business under the "Anago" name. You do not have the option to use a different business name or brand. This requirement ensures brand consistency and recognition across all Anago franchises. It also means that Anago can establish other franchises or company-owned units in the same area, which could lead to competition.
This is a fairly standard practice in franchising, as franchisors typically want to maintain a consistent brand identity across all locations. However, it's important for prospective franchisees to understand that they will not have the freedom to operate under a different name and that Anago can establish other outlets nearby. Franchisees should consider the potential impact of this clause on their business before investing in an Anago franchise.
