What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Anago's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a transfer fee is required when transferring an Anago franchise to a new franchisee. This transfer fee is the greater of $2,000 or 10% of the sale price of the franchise. This fee is paid by the transferee in place of the initial franchise fee typically required for new franchisees.
However, there is an exception to this transfer fee. If the transfer is to a spouse or child of the current franchisee, Anago will not charge a transfer fee. Instead, a smaller administrative fee of $250 will be charged.
In addition to the transfer fee, the potential new franchisee must meet several conditions to be approved. These conditions include interviewing at Anago's principal office, demonstrating the necessary business and personal skills, completing Anago's application process, and completing the Anago Orientation Program. The transferee must also sign the current franchise agreement, which may have different terms than the original agreement.
