What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to Anago's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a Subfranchisor cannot establish a separate website for their operations without written approval from Anago. This approval can be granted or withheld at Anago's sole discretion. Furthermore, Anago maintains absolute ownership of all domain names and URLs related to the Subfranchisor's business operations, including any content posted on such websites.

This policy ensures that Anago maintains control over its brand's online presence and messaging. It prevents Subfranchisors from creating websites that might not align with Anago's overall marketing strategy or brand standards. This is a common practice in franchising, where franchisors seek to maintain a consistent brand image across all franchise locations.

For a prospective Anago Subfranchisor, this means that any online presence they wish to establish must be approved by Anago. They cannot independently create a website to promote their subfranchise without explicit permission. This also implies that Anago has the right to control the content and potentially remove any information on the Subfranchisor's website at any time during the agreement term. Given this restriction, it is crucial for potential Subfranchisors to discuss their online marketing plans with Anago during the due diligence process to understand the scope of permissible online activities.
