What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Anago's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the agreement between Anago and its subfranchisees does not grant exclusive territorial protection. The subfranchisee is permitted to operate their Unit Franchise within specific counties of a state, referred to as the "Area." However, Anago retains the right to open and operate company-owned units, franchise other units, or engage in any other method of distribution within the same Area at their discretion.
This lack of territorial exclusivity means that a subfranchisee may face competition from other Anago outlets, including those owned directly by the company, within their designated Area. This could impact the subfranchisee's ability to acquire new clients and grow their business, as they must compete with other Anago entities for market share.
Prospective subfranchisees should carefully consider the potential implications of this non-exclusive territory. It is important to evaluate the existing competition within the designated Area and to assess the potential for new competitors to enter the market. Understanding Anago's strategy for expansion and market penetration within the Area is crucial for making an informed decision about investing in an Anago subfranchise.
