What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Amorino's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the minimum Protected Area for an Amorino store in a non-urban location is a one-half mile radius. The size of the Protected Area is determined on a case-by-case basis and depends on the type of location, such as whether the store is in an urban or suburban environment. This Protected Area ensures that Amorino will not operate or license another store within that radius, providing the franchisee with a degree of exclusivity.
This territorial protection is a significant benefit for franchisees as it reduces direct competition from other Amorino outlets. However, it's important to note that this protection applies only to traditional Amorino stores, kiosks, or mobile outlets operating under the Amorino brand. Amorino retains the right to distribute products through alternative channels, such as grocery stores or online sales, even within the Protected Area.
Prospective franchisees should carefully consider the location type (urban vs. non-urban) when evaluating the potential Protected Area. While a one-half mile radius is the minimum for non-urban locations, the actual size may vary. Franchisees should also be aware that the Protected Area is contingent on their compliance with the franchise agreement. Amorino can revoke the exclusivity if the franchisee fails to meet the agreement's terms.
Understanding the specifics of the Protected Area is crucial for assessing the potential market and competition. Franchisees should discuss with Amorino how the Protected Area is determined for their specific location and what factors could affect its size or exclusivity. This will help in making an informed decision about the franchise opportunity and its potential for success.
