What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Amorino's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, if a franchisee proposes to purchase or lease equipment, furnishings, or fixtures not previously approved, they must notify Amorino. The franchisee may be required to provide photographs, drawings, specifications, or other information to determine compliance with Amorino's standards.
Amorino will then advise the franchisee within a reasonable time whether the proposed equipment, furnishings, or fixtures comply with their standards and specifications. The term 'reasonable time' is not specifically defined in the FDD, leaving room for interpretation based on the specific circumstances and the complexity of the equipment being proposed.
Prospective franchisees should clarify with Amorino what constitutes a 'reasonable time' in this context. Understanding the typical timeframe for equipment approval can help franchisees plan their store build-out and avoid potential delays. It would be prudent to inquire about the factors that could affect the approval timeline and any recourse available if the approval process exceeds expectations.
