What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 AmeriSpec Inspection Services FDD, the total training hours are 131.5 hours when including the self-study portion. This total comprises 91.5 hours of classroom training and 30 hours of on-the-job training, plus an additional 40 hours of self-study prior to attending the Academy.
The initial training program, also known as AmeriSpec Academy, includes both technical training on performing home inspections and management training on operating the business. New franchise owners or their managers must attend and successfully complete this initial training, typically held approximately six times per year at the training facility in Memphis, Tennessee, although virtual training may be offered when in-person meetings are restricted.
Prior to attending the two-week Academy, franchisees must complete a 40-hour Home Reference On-Line Study Course, which AmeriSpec Inspection Services monitors to ensure completion. After the Academy, franchisees and any inspectors must complete three to four practice inspections and submit inspection reports for evaluation by the Technical Department. Franchisees should also be aware of specific statutory requirements in many states regarding home inspector licensing, registration, or certification.
