Answer from 2025 FDD Document

You must establish and operate from a regular, full-time business office within your Territory (the "Office"). Full time is defined as Monday through Friday 8 a. m. to 5 p.m. The Office can be in your home, as long as your home is located within your Territory. We have the right to approve your Office location. You shall submit the information regarding the Office location to us for approval prior to establishment thereof. There are no specific factors that we consider when determining if an office meets our approval other than the location must be within your Territory. There are no consequences if you and we cannot agree on an office location.

Your Office must be a functional business office with a desk, chairs, file cabinet, computer and printer, etc. While we do not prescribe specific standards for the interior or exterior of your Office, if it is outside of the home, it is expected to be tastefully decorated in a manner designed to enhance the goodwill associated with the Marks. Should you choose to locate your Office in your home, it is your responsibility to comply with all local ordinances as some may prohibit home offices.

What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Amerispec Inspection Services FDD, there are no specified consequences if a prospective franchisee and Amerispec Inspection Services cannot agree on an office location. Amerispec Inspection Services has the right to approve the franchisee's office location, which must be within the designated territory.

The FDD states that the office can be in the franchisee's home, provided it is within the territory and complies with local ordinances. The office must function as a regular business office, equipped with necessary furniture and equipment such as a desk, chairs, file cabinet, computer, and printer. If the office is located outside the home, it should be tastefully decorated to enhance the goodwill associated with the Amerispec Inspection Services brand.

Amerispec Inspection Services's approval of the office location is based on the site and lease satisfying their minimum site selection criteria, considering factors such as the location's viability, demographics, traffic patterns, and competition. The franchisee is responsible for negotiating the lease terms and ensuring compliance with local ordinances and building codes. The absence of specified consequences for disagreement on office location suggests that Amerispec Inspection Services may be flexible or willing to work with the franchisee to find a mutually acceptable solution.
