What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Amerispec Inspection Services Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must file a fictitious business name statement or similar document with all appropriate jurisdictions in which the franchised business is located and provides services when using the name "AmeriSpec Inspection Services." This filing is required when the franchisee uses the name in the format: "AmeriSpec Inspection Services Franchise No. {insert franchise agreement number}" as their doing business as (DBA) name.
Additionally, if the franchisee operates as a corporation, limited liability company, or partnership, they are prohibited from using any of Amerispec Inspection Services' names and marks, or the names and marks of any of the company's affiliates, as part of their legal business name. The franchisee is also required to file for and maintain a "Certificate of Trade Name" in the county, or other appropriate jurisdiction, where the franchised business is located.
These requirements ensure that the franchisee operates under a properly registered name, maintains transparency, and complies with local regulations. It also protects Amerispec Inspection Services' brand identity by preventing unauthorized use of its names and marks in corporate or partnership names. Franchisees should be aware of these obligations and ensure timely compliance to avoid any legal or contractual issues.
