What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 Americas Best Value Inn FDD, PIP is referenced within the context of franchise renewal. Specifically, to renew the franchise agreement for additional five-year terms, franchisees must complete all required maintenance, refurbishing, renovating, and upgrading to conform the hotel to the brand standards for new franchisees, as well as any applicable PIP.

The FDD does not explicitly define what PIP stands for. However, it is implied that a PIP relates to requirements for property improvements.

Prospective Americas Best Value Inn franchisees should seek clarification from the franchisor regarding the definition of PIP, the typical scope and cost of PIP requirements during renewal, and the process for determining applicable PIP requirements for their specific hotel.
