What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 Americas Best Value Inn Franchise Disclosure Document, inspections of hotels during or after renovation or construction are not mandatory. Americas Best Value Inn has the option, but is not required, to inspect a hotel during or following renovation or construction to check if it meets the brand standards.
For franchisees converting an existing hotel, Americas Best Value Inn will conduct an initial inspection to develop a Property Improvement Plan (PIP). This PIP outlines the improvements needed to meet brand standards, and the franchisee must complete the renovation work according to the PIP. However, the subsequent inspection during or after the renovation is at Americas Best Value Inn's discretion.
This discretionary inspection policy means that franchisees should not automatically expect Americas Best Value Inn to verify their compliance with brand standards through an inspection. It is the franchisee's responsibility to ensure all renovations and constructions meet the required standards, regardless of whether Americas Best Value Inn chooses to inspect the property. This places the onus on the franchisee to meticulously follow the PIP and brand standards to avoid potential issues or non-compliance.
