What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Alloy's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the brand's Operations Manual can be distributed electronically. The FDD defines the manual as any collection of written, video, audio, and/or software media, including materials distributed electronically. This definition gives Alloy the flexibility to deliver the manual in various formats, including digital ones.
For a prospective franchisee, this means they should be prepared to access and utilize the Alloy Operations Manual in electronic formats, such as through a computer, tablet, or smartphone. This could involve watching training videos, listening to audio instructions, or using software components. The franchisee needs to ensure they have the necessary technology and internet access to effectively use the manual in its electronic form.
Alloy retains the right to change the contents of the manual from time to time, and this would likely include updates and modifications to the electronic versions. Franchisees should stay informed about these changes to ensure their Alloy facility adheres to the most current specifications, standards, policies, procedures, and recommendations. This also means that Alloy can communicate changes to the manual via email or other electronic means.
This approach is increasingly common in franchising, as electronic manuals are easier to update and distribute than printed ones. However, franchisees should confirm with Alloy what specific formats the manual will be provided in and what technical support will be available if they encounter any issues accessing or using the electronic manual.
