What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to the 2025 FDD, Alloy franchisees do not receive the right to use an item covered by a copyright. However, franchisees are permitted to use the proprietary and confidential information contained within the Alloy operations manual.
While Alloy has not filed for copyright registration for the manual, they assert a claim to copyright. The manual contains critical information for operating the franchise. Item 11 describes the manual and its contents in more detail.
This means that while franchisees can utilize the information in the manual to run their Alloy fitness facilities, they do not have any ownership or specific usage rights typically associated with copyrighted materials. They are essentially licensees of the operational knowledge, not owners of the copyright itself. Prospective franchisees should understand that they are bound by the terms of the franchise agreement regarding the use of this information and cannot reproduce or distribute the manual itself.
