What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Alloy's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must adhere to the Alloy System, which includes specific methods, standards, and procedures for operations. The Alloy System consists of specific equipment, fixtures, furnishings, materials and supplies; methods, uniform standards, specifications and procedures for operations; procedures for management; training and assistance; and merchandising, advertising and promotional programs and other proprietary information, all of which Alloy may change, improve and further develop. This system is identified by Alloy's Trademarks.
Franchisees are required to use the Alloy App, a proprietary software application, for managing and communicating with coaches and clients. Franchisees must ensure they comply with all applicable laws related to the POS system or other technologies used, including data protection, security laws, and PCI compliance. Franchisees are prohibited from using or downloading any software on their computers unless authorized by Alloy in writing.
These stipulations suggest that Alloy franchisees are expected to strictly follow the franchisor's established methods and technologies. Deviating from these designated techniques or processes could potentially lead to breaches of the franchise agreement.
Therefore, a prospective Alloy franchisee should clarify with Alloy what latitude they have to introduce or adapt techniques beyond those specified in the operations manual and training, and what process exists for suggesting or requesting approval of alternative methods.
