What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Alloy's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are not allowed to maintain their own websites for their franchised business. Alloy reserves the right to establish, maintain, modify, or discontinue all internet, world wide web, and electronic commerce activities pertaining to the Alloy system. Alloy may establish one or more websites and provide a "click-through" subpage for the franchisee's facility. If Alloy provides a click-through subpage, franchisees must routinely provide updated content for posting. Alloy reserves the right to specify the content, frequency, and procedure for updating the subpage.
Any websites or other modes of electronic commerce that Alloy establishes or maintains may be used to advertise and promote products, programs, or services available at Alloy facilities, as well as to offer Alloy franchises for sale. Alloy may also establish an intranet for operations and marketing materials, franchisee email exchanges, system discussion forums, and system-wide communications.
Specifically, franchisees are prohibited from maintaining their own website, having an internet presence, advertising online in connection with the franchised business, establishing links to Alloy's website from other sites, or creating any website or electronic commerce presence that incorporates the "Alloy" name or similar marks. Franchisees are also restricted from promoting their business or using Alloy's marks on social media without prior written consent, as Alloy controls all social media initiatives. Franchisees must comply with Alloy's system standards for social media use, including restrictions on posting or blogging about the franchised business, except on websites authorized by Alloy.
