What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to All States M.E.D.'s 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Area Development Fee ranges from $200,000 to $300,000 for three to five territories. This fee includes the Initial Franchise Fee for the first territory purchased under the Development Agreement, plus one-half of the Initial Franchise Fee for each additional territory. The remaining one-half of the Initial Franchise Fee for these additional territories is paid when the franchisee enters into Franchise Agreements for those specific territories.
For a prospective All States M.E.D. area developer, this means that a portion of the initial investment is allocated to securing the rights to develop multiple territories within a defined area. The structure of the Area Development Fee allows for a phased payment of the Initial Franchise Fees for subsequent territories, which could ease the initial financial burden. However, it's important to note that the initial investment for the first franchised business, estimated between $88,500 and $155,500, is separate from the Area Development Fee.
It is important to understand that the Area Development Fee secures the rights to develop the territories, but does not cover the costs associated with opening the second and subsequent locations. These will incur additional costs. The FDD also specifies that all fees payable to All States M.E.D. are non-refundable, so a prospective franchisee should carefully consider their development plans before entering into an Area Development Agreement.
