What This Means (2024 FDD)
According to All States M.E.D.'s 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees must purchase furniture, fixtures, and equipment from a vendor that All States M.E.D. designates or subject to their specifications. This requirement ensures that all franchise locations maintain a consistent brand image and meet the franchisor's standards for quality and functionality.
This restriction on suppliers is a common practice in franchising, allowing All States M.E.D. to control the quality and consistency of the products used in its franchise locations. While franchisees do not have the freedom to choose their own suppliers, this arrangement can streamline the procurement process and potentially offer cost benefits through negotiated rates with approved vendors.
All States M.E.D. does allow franchisees to propose alternative suppliers, but the franchisee will incur any costs up to $1,000 to test the proposed supplier. The franchisee's request must include sufficient specifications, photographs, drawings and other information and samples to enable All States M.E.D. to determine whether supplier meets their specifications. The request must also provide confirmation that the supplier is financially sound and carries adequate liability insurance. All States M.E.D. will notify the franchisee within 30 days if they approve or disapprove of an alternative supplier. Franchisees should carefully consider these requirements and costs when evaluating their options for sourcing furniture, fixtures, and equipment.
