What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to All States M.E.D.'s 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the Franchisee Disclosure Questionnaire is not to be used for franchise sales to residents of Washington. The document states that the questionnaire is not to be used in several states, including Washington.

This means that if you are a prospective franchisee residing in Washington, you will not be required to complete the Franchisee Disclosure Questionnaire as part of the franchise application process. This questionnaire is used to determine if any unauthorized statements or promises were made to the franchisee, ensure proper representation, and confirm understanding of claim limitations related to the franchise.

Prospective franchisees in Washington should be aware of the Washington Addendum to the Disclosure Document, which addresses specific legal protections under the Washington Franchise Investment Protection Act. This addendum clarifies that the terms of the Disclosure Document are superseded by the terms outlined in the addendum for franchises governed by the Act.
