What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to All Dogs Unleashed's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, in the event of the death or disability of a franchisee, the standard transfer fee is waived. However, the transfer is still subject to several requirements.
The requirements for transfer after death or disability mirror those of a standard transfer, including compliance with the franchise agreement, signing a general release, and satisfying all monetary obligations to All Dogs Unleashed. The new franchise owner must also meet the current qualifications, complete training, sign the then-current form of the franchise agreement for the remaining term, refurbish the facility, and sign a guaranty and a general release.
It is important to note that if the franchisee's interest is not transferred within six months following the death or legal incapacity of the franchisee (or a major member, partner, or shareholder), All Dogs Unleashed has the right to terminate the franchise agreement. This creates a time-sensitive situation for the franchisee's estate or representatives to manage the transfer process.
