What This Means (2025 FDD)

According to the 2025 All Dogs Unleashed Franchise Disclosure Document, the franchisor can enforce covenants that require performance even after the termination or expiration of the agreement. This means certain obligations a franchisee has, such as maintaining confidentiality or non-compete clauses, will continue to apply even after the franchise agreement ends.

Specifically, after the agreement ends, the franchisee must return all materials containing customer information to All Dogs Unleashed but can keep a copy to comply with legal and tax requirements. The franchisee is also obligated to maintain the confidentiality of all confidential information, using it only in connection with the operation of the franchised business, and divulging it only to employees on a need-to-know basis.

Furthermore, for a period of two years after the termination or expiration of the Franchise Agreement, the franchisee is restricted from engaging in any business that provides dog training, grooming, or boarding services, within a specified area. This area includes the Service Area or within 25 miles of its perimeter, or within the service area of any other All Dogs Unleashed business in existence or under development at the time of termination or expiration.

These post-termination obligations are typical in franchising to protect the brand's confidential information, customer relationships, and market presence. Prospective All Dogs Unleashed franchisees should carefully review these clauses to understand the full scope of their responsibilities and restrictions, even after the franchise relationship concludes.
