What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to All Dogs Unleashed's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees may be able to relocate their facility if it is destroyed or materially damaged by a natural disaster. Specifically, if the facility premises is destroyed or materially damaged by fire, flood, or other natural catastrophe, the franchisee can request to relocate.
However, All Dogs Unleashed's consent to relocation is not guaranteed. The franchisor will only consent if the lease expires or terminates through no fault of the franchisee, the new location meets All Dogs Unleashed's then-current standards and criteria, and the franchisee is not in default of the franchise agreement or any other agreement with All Dogs Unleashed. This means that even if a disaster occurs, All Dogs Unleashed retains significant control over whether a franchisee can move to a new location.
This stipulation is fairly standard in franchise agreements, as franchisors typically want to ensure that any new location maintains brand standards and is likely to be successful. For a prospective All Dogs Unleashed franchisee, it's important to understand these conditions and to have a plan in place for potential disruptions, including insurance coverage and a strategy for finding a suitable new location that meets the franchisor's requirements.
