What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to All County's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, the standard $10,000 transfer fee is waived if the proposed transfer is among the franchisee's owners or to first or second-degree relatives. However, even if the transfer fee is waived, the franchisee is still responsible for reimbursing All County for any reasonable legal and administrative costs they incur during the transfer process. This reimbursement covers expenses related to the transfer, ensuring All County is compensated for their time and resources.
This policy provides some financial relief for transfers within the franchisee's immediate family or ownership group, acknowledging that these transfers often involve less risk and due diligence compared to transfers to unrelated third parties. First-degree relatives typically include parents, siblings, and children, while second-degree relatives include grandparents, grandchildren, aunts, uncles, nephews, and nieces.
It is important to note that while the transfer fee is waived for related parties, the franchisee must still cover All County's legal and administrative costs. These costs can vary depending on the complexity of the transfer and the legal fees involved. Prospective franchisees should clarify with All County what these costs might entail to budget accordingly for potential transfer scenarios.
