What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aira Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, a franchisee must immediately address maintenance items if a condition presents a threat to members or to public safety. This requirement is further detailed in Section 6.F of the agreement.
Specifically, Aira Fitness requires franchisees to maintain the building (both exterior and interior), equipment, fixtures, signage, and trade dress according to the franchisor's standards and schedules. After a periodic evaluation of the premises, Aira Fitness will provide a report, and the franchisee typically has thirty days to complete the designated maintenance items, including repairs of defective equipment and replacement of irreparable or obsolete items.
However, the immediate maintenance requirement overrides the standard 30-day period when safety is at risk. This means that if a piece of equipment is broken and poses an immediate danger, or if there is another hazard that could harm members or the public, the franchisee must take action right away to resolve the issue. Failure to do so could result in Aira Fitness taking action to complete the required maintenance and billing the franchisee for the costs and expenses incurred.
