What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aira Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, any National Marketing Fees that are not spent during a fiscal year will be carried over for use in future fiscal years. Aira Fitness has the option to make loans to the Marketing Fund with reasonable interest to cover any deficits. The Marketing Fund can also invest in a surplus for future use.
This means that the National Marketing Fees franchisees pay, which is a percentage of their gross sales, are not necessarily spent immediately. Instead, Aira Fitness can save the money for future marketing initiatives. This could be beneficial if Aira Fitness plans to launch a major campaign in the future or needs to address unexpected market changes.
Additionally, Aira Fitness may be reimbursed for reasonable administrative costs, salaries, and overhead incurred while administering or providing services to the Marketing Fund. This is a common practice in franchising, as managing the marketing fund involves administrative efforts. However, prospective franchisees should inquire about what specific expenses Aira Fitness considers 'reasonable' to ensure transparency and accountability in the management of the fund.
As an Aira Fitness franchisee, it's important to understand how the National Marketing Fund is managed and how the fees are utilized over time. Monitoring the fund's activities and requesting regular updates on its financial status can help ensure that the contributions are being used effectively to promote the Aira Fitness brand and support franchisees' businesses.
