What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aira Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, attendance at the annual convention is required for all franchisees. If a franchisee fails to attend the annual convention, Aira Fitness reserves the right to charge a non-attendance fee. Currently, this fee is $500 per Aira Fitness Business. This fee is in addition to the franchisee being responsible for travel and living expenses for both themselves and their manager while attending the annual franchise convention.
It's important to note that while attendance is mandatory, Aira Fitness has not yet held a convention as of the FDD date. Therefore, the FDD cannot provide an estimated cost for attending the convention itself, outside of the non-attendance fee. The non-attendance fee is due upon demand if the franchisee and their manager do not attend the annual franchise convention.
This policy is fairly standard in the franchise industry, as conventions are seen as important for training, networking, and maintaining brand standards. Franchisees should factor this potential $500 fee into their operating budget if they anticipate being unable to attend the annual convention. Prospective franchisees should inquire with Aira Fitness about the anticipated frequency and location of these conventions to better estimate travel and lodging costs.
