What This Means (2025 FDD)
According to Aira Fitness's 2025 Franchise Disclosure Document, franchisees are explicitly prohibited from using any computer hardware, accessories, or peripheral equipment that has not been approved by Aira Fitness. This includes items such as door access components, cameras and surveillance equipment, and televisions. Aira Fitness requires franchisees to acquire and use only the computer hardware and related equipment that they prescribe for the Aira Fitness business.
This requirement ensures that all Aira Fitness locations operate with a standardized technology system, which Aira Fitness can monitor and access remotely. The technology system collects customer identification data, membership data, and door entry data, all of which Aira Fitness may access at any time. The estimated purchase price for the technology system ranges from $1,200 to $4,000, including the Gymmaster software with an initial purchase price of $1,449, and monthly payments ranging from $129 to $249 depending on the number of members.
Furthermore, Aira Fitness may require franchisees to update or upgrade their technology systems and software as they deem appropriate, with no contractual limitations on the cost or frequency of these updates. Franchisees are also obligated to enter into all software license agreements and pay all associated fees. This allows Aira Fitness to maintain a consistent and up-to-date technology infrastructure across all franchise locations, but it also means that franchisees must be prepared for potential ongoing technology expenses.
