What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to Afuri Ramen Dumpling's 2024 Franchise Disclosure Document, the company has the discretion to use in-house advertising departments or external advertising agencies for its advertising programs. This means that Afuri Ramen Dumpling is not limited to a single approach and can choose the method that it believes will be most effective. They have sole discretion over advertising content, materials, endorsements and placement.

This flexibility allows Afuri Ramen Dumpling to adapt its advertising strategies as needed and potentially optimize its marketing spend. As a franchisee, you may benefit from the expertise of these departments or agencies, as they develop and implement advertising campaigns designed to promote the brand and attract customers. However, franchisees should recognize that Afuri Ramen Dumpling is not obligated to ensure that advertising expenditures are proportionate to franchisee contributions in any given market area, nor is there a requirement for any franchise to benefit directly or proportionately from advertising development or placement.

Afuri Ramen Dumpling also retains the right to use various media channels for promotion, including print and internet (websites and social media). They may also provide advertising materials and point-of-sale aids for franchisees to use in their local advertising and promotional efforts. This suggests that franchisees may have some level of support from Afuri Ramen Dumpling in terms of marketing resources, but all advertising copy and promotional materials must be submitted for approval before use. Franchisees are not allowed to create their own websites to promote the brand or their franchise, and social media use requires prior written approval and must comply with Afuri Ramen Dumpling's standards.

It is important for prospective franchisees to understand that company-owned Afuri Ramen Dumpling operations are not required to contribute to the advertising fund. Any advertising fees not used in the fiscal year they were contributed will be applied to advertising and marketing expenses in the following year. This policy ensures that all collected advertising fees are used for their intended purpose, even if there is a surplus in a given year.
