Answer from 2024 FDD Document

You must complete the initial mandatory training program to our satisfaction or we may terminate the Franchise Agreement upon refunding 50% of the Initial Franchise Fee. You are encouraged to participate in the training session as soon as possible after executing the Franchise Agreement and before incurring any costs or expenses related to the opening of the Franchise. We will not be liable for your costs or expenses if we terminate the Franchise Agreement because you or the manager fails to complete the mandatory training to our satisfaction.

What This Means (2024 FDD)

According to the 2024 Afuri Ramen Dumpling FDD, if a franchisee does not complete the initial mandatory training program to the franchisor's satisfaction, Afuri Ramen Dumpling may terminate the Franchise Agreement. In this case, the franchisee would receive a refund of 50% of the initial franchise fee.

This policy serves as an incentive for franchisees and their managers to fully engage with and successfully complete the training program. It also protects Afuri Ramen Dumpling by ensuring that franchisees are adequately prepared to operate their restaurants according to the brand's standards. The initial franchise fee is typically non-refundable, but this is a specific instance where a portion of it may be returned.

Prospective franchisees should consider the importance of the training program and the potential consequences of not meeting the franchisor's standards. While a 50% refund of the initial franchise fee may seem beneficial if the agreement is terminated, the franchisee would still lose a significant portion of their initial investment, as well as the time and resources spent attempting to establish the franchise. It is crucial to fully commit to the training and seek any necessary support to ensure successful completion.
